My passion for fitness began in high school where I competed in cross country and track. It was there that I learned to love pushing my limits. In college, my view of fitness shifted when I began coaching fitness classes and training clients. I learned that it was more important to make fitness the best part of people’s day so that they came back and continued to make fitness a priority in their lives. A couple years ago I attended a fitness conference and heard the presenter Peter Twist say words that align with my coaching philosophy “We don’t crush people. That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. Life crushes them and we lift them up.”

I came across CrossFit in 2016 when I was training for my second Ironman and looking for a way to complement my endurance training. I realized that CrossFit was a way for me to continue to push my limits which I loved but also a way to enjoy the camaraderie of working out with friends. I loved seeing progress in my lifts and WODs but I was also having a lot of fun doing it. This missing link led me to get my CrossFit Level 1 Certificate so that I could show others that CrossFit is a fun way to get healthy and see progress.
