With the end of summer coming up and the beginning of fall, we’ve seen a large number of familiar faces returning from school break and vacation heading back into the gym to resume their training. As the popularity of CrossFit rises, we’ve also seen a large number of athletes moving to Berkeley who wish to continue their fitness journey at Grassroots. While we love the energy and enthusiasm that a busy class generates, we also want to be sure that as the gym membership grows, we continue to give the best possible coaching and ensure everyone stays safe during their workout. For this reason, we’re happy to announce that starting today (September 8th), we will have two coaches on hand for evening hours every Monday through Friday.
The second coach will assist the lead coach as needed to provide individuals with personalized feedback and cues to help them perform better. He or she will be available to assist with form corrections, advice or questions, weight/scaling selection, encouragement, and support. Our hope is that the second coach will not only offer members additional attention to improve their quality of movement, but will help in keeping the classes running on-time and minimizing any potential for injury during the workouts.
Secondary coaches will be initially offered at 4:15pm on Mondays and Tuesdays and at 5:30pm and 6:45pm Monday through Friday. If we feel that additional times during the day need a second coach, we will add them to the schedule or shift the schedule as needed.
